October 19th - Breakout: Helping Older Adults Bridge the Digital Divide
San Diego Oasis has taken 4,000 older adults who were used to attending one of 30 physical program locations to virtual participation over a weekend. Simona will share lessons learned in the transition, continual learning and improvement, and its newest pilot project: Bridging the Digital Divide, which is deploying a full suite of tech devices and services to low income, socially isolated senior population.

Simona Valanciute, President & CEO, San Diego Oasis Simona joined the San Diego Oasis as its Chief Executive in 2012 to facilitate a merger of two nonprofit organizations, resulting in an award-winning regional organization with almost 50,000 members. For more than a decade Simona was a senior executive at The San Diego Foundation, where she worked with prominent community leaders and donors. Simona holds undergraduate degrees in linguistics and business as well as an MBA. She was recently selected for the prestigious Harvard Business School’s global nonprofit leadership program in Boston. Originally from Lithuania, Simona speaks multiple languages and enjoys cultural adventures.
